In 2011, more than 250 people from around the country attended various parts of the first weekend; in 2012, more than 500 people joined us from 12 countries! THIS YEAR, it will once again be a sold-out, fun, interactive, multi-day learning experience filled with the latest industry tools and services. Get ready, #smwknd will also be sprinkled with lots of old-fashioned networking too.

Weekend Pass – $210: ALL events from Friday through Sunday
Student Weekend Pass – $75 (limited number; valid ID required)

Friday night reception & keynote – $60
Saturday ALL events – $110

Attendees: We welcome “students” of all levels and from ANY industry. Companies sending participants should contact Tatiana Rivera, program manager of continuing education at to discuss group discounts. A company that registers five or more employees ALL AT ONCE IN A SINGLE transaction will get 10 percent off, whether alumni or not.

Promotional codes (subject to authentication): Graduates of Columbia Journalism School are entitled to a 10 percent discount off registration; alumni of previous Contiuing Education programs are entitled to a 5 percent discount off registration – discount codes are in the registration page (see above).  Valid current ACCREDITED university program (undergraduate, graduate or professional education) student ID for this academic year must be presented at check-in.

Journalists & Bloggers: We have only a handful of press passes that we can offer to journalists and bloggers who will be COVERING this for media outlets or professional blogs. As you can imagine, a vast majority of our attendees can claim a press pass based on their day jobs, but we must restrict the passes to folks who are genuinely covering the event, rather than attending for their own sake.

If you’d like to throw your hat in the ring for a Press/Blogger Pass, please write a detailed note with your contact information, your background (with links to relevant coverage), your plans for coverage and any other pertinent details to sree at (subject line = press/blogger pass)
